The application period is now closed. We have already finished assigning positions in the different regions of Spain for the school year 2014-2015. From now on there will be few positions left for the waiting list.
The Spanish Ministry of Education will open a new application deadline, probably in January 2015, and that will be for those language assistants wishing to go to Spain in October 2015. You can start looking at the documents that are on our website as the application process will not vary significantly. We are updating these documents in preparation for the new deadline.

Please note that once you submit your application, you can no longer modify or edit it. Before submitting your application, please revise all the information carefully and make sure all the documents have been uploaded.
No change in your region preference order will be granted after you have submitted your application.
You can follow the selection process on PROFEX. First, all the documents will be verified and we will check that you are eligible for the program "admitida'. Once you are 'admitida', you will have to wait to receive an assignment (typically mid-April).

Please, ADDRESS YOUR QUESTIONS TO YOUR CORRESPONDING CONSULATE for your visa application. The staff of the Consulates will be happy to assist you in this process.
Remember, you will not be able to work on your visa or your appointment with your Consulate until you receive a formal job offer specifying your assignment (carta de nombramiento) from the Regional Office of Education (Consejería de Educación) that will employ you in Spain. Your contact person in your Comunidad Autónoma will be able to help with this important document.

Please, follow these instructions in detail to succeed in the acceptance of your assignment. On occassion, PROFEX can experience technical difficulties. Please, give it a few minutes and revisit the instructions on how to accept your assignment to make sure you are doing it correctly.
If you have questions about your specific assignment, the specific city or town where you will be located, the Fall Orientation for the new auxiliares, or any other information regarding the Autonomía where you just accepted your position, please, send an email to the contact person/email address provided: CONTACT COMUNIDADES AUTÓNOMAS
Your assignment has ben granted based on the preferences you expressed in your application, and the availability in the different Comunidades Autónomas. We have always tried to give you one of your top choices, but it has not always been possible, particularly during the last couple of weeks, when a lot of the regions had no positions left.
No changes in the region of your assignment are possible. Exchanging positions with candidates in different regions is not possible, either.
Those candidates who fail to accept or decline within the five days after the electronic notification of their assignment will be automatically withdrawn by PROFEX, and WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY ASSIGNMENT FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.
However, we understand that for some of you, some unforseen circumstances may lead you to declining an assignment even after you accepted. If you have to decline, please inform us at your earliest convenience by sending an email to: email@example.com
In your email, please include the following information:
a. Your first and last name.
b. Your inscripción number.
c. The region you were assigned to.
d. The reason why you had to decline your assignment.
If you inform us in a timely fashion and justify your withdrawal from the program, this will not have a negative impact on your application in forthcoming years, and somebody else will be able to take your spot.

If you just received an assignment, please wait patiently for your carta de nombramiento. Communicate with your contact in your Comunidad Autónoma and tell them when you will be arriving.
Write to your U.S. / Canadian Regional Education Advisor for assistance obtaining an earlier appointment at your Consulate if there is the option.
