What does vocational training consist of?

"Vocational Training" includes a set of post-mandatory courses in the education system that qualify students to perform various professions, providing polyvalent training and allowing them to adapt to the continuous changes in the work market.

 

What qualifications can i obtain by completing vocational training studies?

The Vocational Training Qualifications offered by the Education System are "Technician" and "Higher Technician".

 

Do the qualifications obtained in the distance-based vocational training modality have the same validity as those obtained by attending classes?

Yes, it is the same qualification, as long as the training cycle in question has been completed in full.

 

How is the initial vocational training organised?

The "Technician" and "Higher Technician" qualifications will be grouped in 26 Professional Families and within each one, as follows:

  • Intermediate level Training Cycles, leading to the qualification of "Technician" and part of post-mandatory secondary education.
  • Higher level Training Cycles, leading to the qualification of "High Technician" and part of higher education.

 

Where is it possible to find the offering of educational cycles that can be completed on a distance basis?

This portal contains information on Distance-based Vocational Training in various Autonomous Communities and in the Ministry of Education.

 

Is the enrolment calendar the same for the entire offering described in the portal?

No, it is important to remember that because there are various different training offerings from both Autonomous Communities and the Ministry of Education, there may be variations in the calendars, closing dates, enrolment systems, etc. and that it is therefore necessary to check the specific offering in which you have decided to follow these studies. However, the Official Qualification that is obtained is the same for the entire Initial Vocational Training offering in any modality.

 

Is it possible to apply for scholarships for this distance studies modality?

This portal provides information on Scholarships and Study Grants for this teaching modality.

 

Will i have teachers for every module that can answer any doubts that i may have?

The teachers will always be ready to help. Their function is the same as if they were in the classroom, with the sole difference being that they use different types of learning tools that are adapted to this training modality.

 

Can i change to another autonomous community after i have enrolled for a cycle?

If you are studying in an Autonomous Community and you decide to continue your studies in another, you have to remember that the syllabuses may not be identical in each Community and therefore, you should validate the modules that you have already passed in the Autonomous Community where you want to continue your studies.

 

Can i complete all of the modules in a training cycle in the distance modality?

It is important to remember that it is mandatory to complete the Workplace Training (WT) module and that it is necessarily presence-based. You may also validate this module by obtaining accreditation for work experience, in which case you would not need to complete the WT module.

 

Who can complete intermediate level and higher level vocational training in the distance modality?

Those that meet the requirements set in order to qualify for Vocational Training. If you do not meet these requirements, you should find out what possibilities exist in the various Autonomous Communities and the Ministry of Education.
